I think tweens have been superseded by fbf simply because fbf looks better so that's not all that surprising.

The brakenwood series proves that story is not needed in a flash and a funny but poorly animated flash will always pass so you're a bit wrong there.

Stamper and Johnny's submissions are not always loved. They just attract alot of people to their submissions because they are admins and the majority of NG users are very young (or new to newgrounds) and don't know what is truly a good submission and what isn't.

Really all these things are just the natural course of nature. There are more users than ever on Newgrounds and people are getting better at flash which raises the bar.
